Design
Do you have an idea? Is it sketched out yet or still stuck in your head? Let's work together to get that concept drawn up. Whether it be just fully planned out and dimensioned on paper or thrown into CAD and made ready for fabrication, we'll get it done.
With extensive work in the Autodesk suite of software, I can have a design made for your product, idea, MVP.
Prototyping
Do you need something 3D printed?
How about made from scratch?
Whatever it is, it can be built.
I have 3D printers capable of manufacturing objects up to 2 cubic feet. That is 2'x2'x2'
Batch Production
Do you need a large quantity of your prototype object or 3D print? Don't worry!
I have 7 machines currently operating and employ Toyota Production System with my prototyping.
We will design out overburden (muri), inconsistency (mura) and eliminate waste (muda) in order to scale production to your needs. Utilizing focus groups, I will tailor the product to your feedback for an iterative process or develop inline multiple prototypes for a parallel process. Whatever it takes, we will get it done!
Repair
Do you have a broken electrical or mechanical device that you just can't get back to life? Vintage equipment with no parts available? A fancy new toy or computer that doesn't seem like it was designed to be fixed. Don't worry, I've got you covered.
With a full lab of electrical and mechanical diagnostic equipment and tools, we will get to the root cause of your issue and find a solution that brings your broken equipment back to life so you can enjoy it once again.
F.A.Q.
Because knowing is half the battle
How much do these services cost?
The cost can vary widely but typically I charge $60/hr for work. Parts, supplies, and in some cases power consumption add to the cost, which will be reflected in your quote.
How will you get my prototype to me?
I can ship 3D printed objects, prototypes, etc if they are within reason or operate delivery if you are located within the Houston metropolitan area. In some instances, you may arrange pickup in order to avoid delivery fees.
I don't know where the file is for my 3D print.
Can you find it for me?
I can find just about anything you’d like to have made, but do be aware that this has to be “within reason.”
Some websites charge money for their CAD designs (and rightfully so)
If this is the case, one of us is going to have to purchase the “Design”
Regardless, it is prudent to find these files to avoid any excess labor.
I can consult with you and find the files but reserve the right to charge for design work if you are indicating there is not a design present and one will need to be found.
Please have your files available to 3D print if you want prototyping only.
What kind of timeframe can you have my work done in?
This can vary widely. A 3D printer can print small objects several ounces in weight in as little as 30-45min but may take many hours or days for very large objects approaching 2lbs. A single roll of filament is 2.2lbs and may take up to 36hr to print depending on complexity, fill ratio, etc. Multiple large parts can be printed in tandem if required to reduce total time to completion.
Prototypes using classical construction methods (IE wood, steel, electronics, mechanical assemblies, screws, etc) will take more time and labor to build/assemble. This could range from several days to several months dependent on complexity.
It is for this reason that consultation beforehand is important to establish an estimated time to completion. If your prototype is complex, expect a thorough solution to take due course of time.
Do you have a "brick and mortar" storefront?
Not at this time unfortunately. I will be working on creating an online storefront in the near future for popular 3D printed items.
